Last week we began planting for Demi's garden. We brought in bulbs to make a pretty flower garden since Demi died a year ago. It is her birthday coming up so we decided to make a beautiful flower garden to remember her. First everyone brought in their own bulbs with all different colours to make a nice flower garden. Next, we got garden tools to make the beautiful special garden. Then we went to make a deep enough hole for two bulbs to fit in. Next step was to water them a little bit before we cover them with soil then we watered them a little bit on top to make them grow.

Yesterday, we completed our science experiment for air resistance. We dropped the 10cm, 20cm and the 30cm parachutes off the ramp in the yard to see which one was the slowest and which one was the fastest. We dropped each one three times to make it fair but sometimes the wind blew it away and we all laughed. At the end, we had a race with each one to see which one went the fastest and which one went the slowest, we found out that the 10cm one went the fastest and the 30cm one went the slowest. This was due to the 10cm having a smaller surface area, meaning it will have less air resistance and the 30cm having a bigger surface area, meaning there will be more air resistance.t the slowest. Last week, the 7th October, Year 5/6 completed our monthly bleep test. This is a fitness test where two cones are set 20 metres apart and you have to make it to the other cone before the bleep. The bleeps get faster and faster as the levels get higher. We complete this test monthly are try and beat our score. We split into small groups to complete the test with Sir recording our scores on his iPad and the test being played through the large speaker. Please find attached our class newsletter. All pupils have settled really well into Year 5/6 and we are looking forward to a very rewarding year! 🏆

Additionally, I would like you all to complete these activities; • https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zdp8bqt • https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zknp7yc 📚 🥳 Our fun activity this week will be placed on Seesaw, it is based around our topic, 'The Olympics'. Last weeks challenge will stay on Seesaw. Therefore the challenge of who can get the furthest is still open. 🥳 ⚠️ ⚠️ There is one key task I would like you to complete this week ASAP please. I know I am going to be seeing some of you over the next three weeks and I am looking forward to that. Therefore, as some of us are back in school, I have slightly changed the way I have organised tasks. 👋
📚 I have shared maths tasks on HWB as per normal. I have added some literacy and topic work to Seesaw as per normal. However, you will see that there is a mini project that I would like you to complete over the last few weeks we have in the school year, so it doesn't have to completed within this week. Additionally, I would like you all to complete these activities; • https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zyfrsk7 • https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/z6csm39 📚 ⚠️ I have added these activities from BBC Bitesize because I feel they are a very good way for you to further your skills. The maths challenges they put on are very beneficial. They gradually get harder as you work through the challenge, which allows you to possibly challenge yourself as year 6 level, which will only benefit yourself for next year. ⚠️ 🥳 Our fun activity this week will be placed on Seesaw, it is based around our topic, 'The Olympics'. When completing this task, you will need to stick to the rules. I want to see who can travel the furthest. 🥳 ⭐ Thank you all and please keep it up ⭐ Mr Bevan 🐒 👋 Morning all! You are all continuing to produce some superb work, so a massive well done and please keep it up everyone! 👋
