On Thursday 24 October Clydach Primary had a Halloween Discos. The whole junior department wrapped the teachers in toilet roll to be mummies. Mrs Bennett and Mrs Morgans won the competition. Then we all danced to our favourite songs and we all had a good time. In the middle of the Disco we all played arches, the girls made an arch first. All the children in the primary school dressed very very scary and there was a hot dog and sweet cart and a lot of girls were chasing the boys. Blog by Ceri and Analyse Pictures by Millie

On Wednesday 16th October year 5 and 6 went to Swansea Museum and the Dylan Thomas Theatre . First we got on the bus I was sitting by Katie . I was really happy .
Pictures by Katie In school we celebrated 'make a mate feel great day'.On strips of paper Mrs Morgans put everyone's name and we had to Secretly pick one.Throughout the day we had to make that person who we picked out feel great.Make a mate feel great day is an idea thought of by the anti-bullying Ambassadors. The junior department had to pick out names on a piece of paper and the infants they had to just make each other feel great. On make a mate feel great day you could say "I like like your t-shirt" or something like that or you could also say "I like your hair". You could even go to the cinema with a friend (we read that someone took a day off work to celebrate the day at the cinema with a mate). Yesterday Mr Lock came in to give Year 6 a taster drumming session. The children who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves and Mr Lock was extremely impressed by the ability of the children. We went down to the hall to watch a birds of prey. We saw owls, a hawk, and lots more. The birds were amazing! They listened to everything the man said. He said that they have grabbed rats, rabbits and even that they have caught a fox and voles. We took loads of pictures. Most of the teachers and teaching assistant held these fantastic birds. The birds were well trained and they were very exiting.
We have had special visitors - Swansea Archive Service. They came for one lesson and brought things in; they brought in Victorian maps, census, photographs and paintings. They also brought parchment to look at. Most people said that it was different to normal paper. We found out that the stamp at the bottom was made of wax. The sheet went around the class and once it had gone all the way around the lady spoke and said that the paper in the Victorian times was really made of animal skin, goat, pig and sheep! |
