Last Friday year 5/6 and year 6 went down to the Vadre to see the opening of the new bit of route 43 (the cycle path).

When we got down to the Vadre there were people from Glais and Griagfelen Primary Schools. We had to wait for ages  but then finally a man came in a suit and tie and made a speech.

Next a woman made a speech she was an artist who designed and helped to make the new bridge and chose the colours to use.

They got the nice lady to cut the rope, the second it was cut everyone ran on to the bridge. The colours of the bridge were lovely there was light blue a redish colour and a really light green when we got to the end of the bridge we had a class photo..

I really liked the new bike path I went there on the week end too with my brother.

Playground Friends

What do we do?

We make sure that the children are happy in school because in a way we are one big family. It all  started today some year 6 girls did a play in assembly. In play time this morning some of us  did our duties because its our day. Mrs Morgans is the teacher in charge of playground frinds.

These are the playground friends rules:
1.Find out what the problem is it all about?
2.Let everyone have their say.
3.Ask  what  solution would the children like/suggest a solution.
4.Try out the solution.
5.If you can't solve the problem ask an adult for help.

What we wear and were to find us
We wear red sashes around us.We will be on the play ground standing anywhere. If you feel poorly or need some cheering up come to a playground friend ...we dont take sides even if you're family.

Problems we have solved
There were four children today who came to us when I was on duty.Their problem was two of them wanted to play dancing and the others  wanted to play basketball so I said "I'll let you all have your say. What do you want to play?"
She said "I want to play dancing and so does my friend but those  want to play basketball".
I replied "What do you want to play together then? Do you want to play skipping?"
We tried that solution and they agreed on that did not aruge again.
