Environmental Phil

Last week a man called Phil came into school to talk to us about the amazon rainforest, the environment and what we could do to help .

The first thing he said was to buy British food, so not potatoes from Egypt or peas from Kenya, it takes vital water away from their poorist people.

We saw pictures of the amazon rainforest, its MASSIVE. Phil told us a story about  when him and some teachers went to the amazon rainforest and went looking for a Scarlet McCaw,  it was funny. He told us that he and the teachers were waist deep in a river whe he felt something brushing against his leg. He didn't want to look down as he thought it was a snake .Phil told the others to look for him and before he knew it they were all jumping around. It turned out that it wasn't a snake but  a river dolphin! When he knew it was not going to hurt him he put his arm around it.  In the rainforest Phil said that they found a lot of Scarlet McCaws a really rare and beautiful bird.

Another thing that Phil told us about is when he took some teenagers to the rain forest and was there for three days and one of them said" Do you know ive brought my DS and havent used it once" and he started crying and everyone else started  crying a part from Phil because they were so happy

The most important thing I learnt from Phil , Dont throw litter, put it in the bin.
